Tata Zest Compact Sedan Unveiled - Images & Details
Tata Zest compact sedan has just been unveiled in an event in Delhi, along with its hatchback counterpart, Bolt. Based on the company's X1 platform, Zest is a sub-4 meter compact sedan that will rival Honda Amaze and Swift DZire. Tata Zest, previously known by its codename Falcon 5, is a Manza replacement.
The new Tata Zest comes with a brand new front face which it shares with Bolt hatchback as well. In terms of design, the Zest compact sedan and Bolt hatchback bolt look alike, differentiated only by the extended boot on the Zest.

The new grille design is based on Tata's ‘Humanity' line, which sits between the new headlights. The headlights, which will also get optional daytime running lights, look similar to those on the old Manza/Vista, except being more rounded and longer. The fog lamp housing is also new and looks attractive.
Powering the Zest will be the new Revotron 1.2 liter turbo petrol engine and a 1.5 liter MultiJet diesel engine. But the main selling point will be Tata's F-Tronic Automated Manual Transmission that will debut in the Zest for the first time. This is a clutchless manual transmission system similar to the one that will be seen in Maruti Suzuki's upcoming Celerio hatchback.
