Tata Motors To Debut Jaguar XE Globally In September
Jaguar Land Rover brand is owned by Indian automobile giant Tata Motors. The iconic British brand had earlier announced the XE as its new premium sports sedan offering. The vehicle will be showcased globally at London on the eighth of September, 2014.
The Jaguar XE will boast of an aluminium intensive lightweight construction. This new high strength aluminium has been developed keeping in mind the needs of the new XE. The new aluminium grade is being called 'RC 5754' and will be used only for the XE currently.

The new aluminium construction concept was first showcased in 2013 and the will be applied to Jaguar XE, which will be globally revealed in 2015. It will be the first and only vehicle in its segment to feature an aluminium monocoque. It will also get a special technology package from the British marque.

Dr Mark White, Jaguar's Chief Technical Specialist, explained, "The Jaguar XE body uses over 75% aluminium content, which far exceeds any other car in its class. This gives us a body structure with unrivalled low weight: it's light but also immensely strong with extremely high levels of torsional stiffness."

He further added, "We've made sure our aluminium-intensive body structure exceeds all global safety standards without compromising on vehicle design or refinement."

The new high strength aluminium used for Jaguar XE is made up of recycled material. The manufacturer claims to achieve a goal of using 75% of recycled material by the year 2020. The vehicle has been designed and engineered in their new facility at Solihull, United Kingdom and will the first car manufactured there.
