Maruti Suzuki Mini Truck Production Plans
Suzuki Motors is planning to manufacture a light commercial vehicle in India. The Japanese manufacturer plans to offer the mini-trucks from the following year, in a bid to capitalise over the developing segment.
Suzuki will develop the mini-truck based on its own Carry. It was popular earlier for easy and quick transport however, the look and designed lost appeal eventually.
A 800cc Diesel engine is expected to be fitted in the upcoming mini-truck. The engine is already being developed by Suzuki. It will be manufactured in Gurgaon, India at Maruti Suzuki's Plant.
Suzuki has a goal to sell annually 1,00,000 units in the beginning. Expect the mini-truck to cost in range of Rs 4 Lakh.

The Japanese manufacturer believes their vehicle could be utilised for transportation mainly. However, local manufacturer Tata is dominating the segment currently.
The mini-truck segment is growing and international brands are showing keen interest. Suzuki and Isuzu will enter the segment and expect to increase competition.
Suzuki is expecting their mini-truck to get popular with the rural section however, won't let go the possibility in the urban market. The urban market is unpredictable and could take liking to the new segment.
Whatever the case be, Maruti Suzuki is bound to increase competition. Whether they will do good or no, we will have to wait and watch the final product.
