Suzuki Celerio Secures 3-Star Rating In Euro NCAP Test
Japanese automobile Suzuki had launched its Celerio family hatchback at 2014 Auto Expo. The vehicle was then launched only in India, however, it was announced that it would be offered in Europe as well.
Suzuki will be launching its Celerio in Europe by December, 2014. The country has a strict policy of car safety and every car has to go through their Euro NCAp test. Recently, it was noticed that the Swift and Datsun's GO failed miserably in this test.
The Japanese automobile giant currently offers its Alto in Europe and Celerio will replace it. Suzuki has witnessed tremendous success with its hatchback in India. Majority of the buyers like the affordable AMT version that the manufacturer offers.
Celerio Euro-spec model has gone through rigorous Euro NCAP test. Suzuki are proud to reveal that their hatchback has got a three star rating from Euro NCAP. These are decent figures for the hatchback, however, there are several vehicles that have scored a five star rating in Europe.
Suzuki will offer its Celerio aesthetically the same as in India. Under the hood will be a 1.0-litre K-Series mill, which will produce maximum power of 67 bhp, along with 90 Nm of peak torque. It will provide fuel efficiency figures in the range of 23 kpl.
The Euro-sec Celerio will not be shipped from India, instead it will be built at Suzuki's Thailand facility. The Japanese manufacturer will be adding several new features in their hatchback. It is expected to get an engine stop/start button, along with more premium interiors.
