SSC Tuatara Production Could Begin Soon
If you thought the Bugatti Veyron was the ultimate horsepower-wielding machine, think again. That's because a company called SSC (famous for the insane Ultimate Aero) is working on a 1,350 horsepower hypercar called the Tuatara. Yes, you read right, those are actual power figures.
With power like this from the twin-turbo 6.9-litre V8 engine, expect incredible performance too. The Tuatara is expected to accelerate from knot to 100 km/h in 2.5 seconds and complete the quarter-mile in under 10 seconds. Top speed? A mind-boggling 275 mph (around 440 km/h), which will make it the fastest car in the world by a good margin.
SSC is in the process of constructing a new 40,000 square foot production facility in West Richland, Washington, and should be completed by early next year.
Production will be limited to around 12 cars annually, but could progress to around 24-30 cars annually once the facility is fully established.

The story continues on the next slide:

Really looks like something out of a science fiction graphic novel, doesn't it?

Space-age futuristic interiors are sure to excite.

Has 440 km/h written all over it.

The front profile of the car resembles an aircraft more than a road car.
