Skoda Yeti Facelift Auto Expo 2014 Reveal Confirmed

Skoda Yeti is one of the few compact SUVs that could be considered a true SUV despite its small stature, unlike many other crossover models masquerading as compact SUVs. Yet, the fact that the Yeti is not a popular in India is well known.

You would think Skoda would discontinue the model at the next given chance, but instead the Czech automaker will bring out a facelifted model of the Yeti at the Auto Expo 2014.

Revealed for the first time at the 2014 Frankfurt Motor Show in September, the facelifted Yeti bears the same facial features as the new Skoda Octavia and Superb models currently sold in India.

These changes consists of a redesigned bonnet, the new grille design, a new pair of headlights and fog lamps and a new bumper. The new design can be described in one word as ‘clean'. Towards the rear end the 2014 Yeti will get a taillight seen on the Rapid and a revised bumper.

The 2014 Yeti will also sport a new steering wheel, a revised dashboard and improved seat fabrics. Skoda will offer the new Yeti in City and Outdoor body trims.

It's not known whether or not Skoda will bring new engines to the facelifted Yeti, but chances are that it will continued to be powered by the same 2.0-litre, TDI engine. Internationally, the Yeti is powered by a 1.6 liter TDI unit. Bringing this unit to India could, however, aid in bringing down cost and improve fuel economy.
