Reverse Parking Camera Compulsory By 2018 In USA
In an attempt to make driving experience safer for both people in the car as well as people walking on the road. The National Highway Safety Transportation Agency (NHTSA) will be introducing a new compulsion.
The new rule will state all cars to feature reverse parking cameras by May 1st of 2018. This rule is not applicable to all cars, only to those who cost over 10,000 Pounds.

The reverse parking camera is similar to the parking sensor; however it shows a video of what is behind and aids in parking the car. The feature is offered as an option and some cars even sport it as a standard feature.
There are different types of parking equipment some of which, show a live feed from the rear. Others show distance from an object behind and some even provide a trajectory where and how much to turn in tight parking spaces.

The rule states that the rear parking camera should provide a minimum of 10 feet wide by 20 feet video of what is happening behind. Earlier the plan was to implement 180 degree cameras; however, they decided 130 degree cameras along with rear view mirrors would suffice.
The NHTSA has been trying to implement this rule for a long time now. They have now decided that car manufacturers will have to supply these parking systems in the rear in all new cars. While older car owners will have to retrofit their cars with the rear parking camera.
Let us know if you think this rule should be introduced in India as well?
