Renault Expanding Presence In Small Towns To Tap Masses In India
Renault, the French automobile maker is expanding its presence in India, by strengthening its presence in smaller towns of India to tap the masses with its upcoming entry segment car next year.
Renault is looking to strengthen its sales and service infrastructure in smaller towns that have a high growth in the country before the company launches its new MPV, the Lodgy in India.
Sumit Sawhney, the CEO and Managing Director of Renault India said, "We are looking to increase our presence in tier II-IV markets which will play a key role in growth of automobile industry in India, and our small car will play a key role in meeting this objective."
"We are taking major steps to increase our presence in India and will be entering the volume and growth segments to strengthen our position in India."
Renault has planned to launch two key products, to strengthen its stand in the country, where dominant players are Maruti Suzuki and Hyundai.
"With the launch of our MPV, we plan to offer customers a unique value proposition and create a niche in the segment, like we did with the Duster." said the CEO about the Lodgy, the company's upcoming MPV.
Sawhney said that Renault has a clear plan for 2015 in India, and is working on the company's product strategy for 2016 as well.
