Renault Launches Fluence Facelift In Malaysia
Renault have unveiled the new facelifted version of the Fluence in Malaysia, which is already on sale in India. The unveil was done in Malaysia owing to the new tie-up with Malaysian authorities to locally manufacture the French brand's sedan.
The French manufacturer will further grow its presence in the south-east part of Asia, owing to their new manufacturing facility in Malaysia. Renault will manufacture their products from their facility at Segambut. The French manufacturer believes there is great potential in the Asian markets and is betting big on it.
The 2014 Renault Fluence will be available in a single drivetrain option. A 2.0-litre petrol powered 4-cylinder engine will generate 195 Nm of peak torque along with 143 horsepower. The engine will be offered with an X Tronic CVT gearbox.
The French manufacturer claims their 2014 Fluence sedan can sprint from 0 to 100 km/h in a decent 10 seconds flat. Renault say they're engine is capable of hitting top speed in the higher 190's km/h, while still returning a fuel efficiency of 7.7 litres for every 100 kilometres.
The 2014 facelift to the French designed Fluence consists of mild changes to the exterior with projectors for the headlights, auto headlights and wipers along with 17-inch alloy wheels. The front grille has been redesigned too and looks more elegant than before.
Within the cabin Renault have introduced leather upholstery along with seats. It will also feature a dual zone air con with a rear air vent for back seat occupants, who will also have fold away armrests with cup holders.
To entertain passengers the French manufacturer have provided their sedan with a 7-inch touch screen infotainment system with Renault's R-Link. It will be supported by six Arkamys speaker boasting of 3D sound quality. The system will support voice recognition, Bluetooth, navigation, CD, MP3 as well as USB. It will also act as a display for the rear parking camera.
The 2014 Renault Fluence is being offered in Malaysia for a price of RM 1,15,000. When converted to Indian currency it works to around INR 20,95,213 for the base variant. In India the base variant of the Fluence is available for INR 13,99,000(ex-showroom).
However, for Malaysia Renault will be offering five year's of warranty on the Fluence along with 2 years or up to 40,000 kilometres of free servicing, which is a good bargain according to us.
