Precision Camshafts & EMAG Germany - Assembled Camshafts Tech In India
Precision Camshafts Limited (PCL), one of the world's leading chilled cast iron camshaft manufacturer, has formed an alliance with EMAG Germany to introduce assembled camshaft technology in India.
Camshafts manufactured through this process use force-free heat shrink technology and are said to have increased strength of material and are lighter in comparison to conventional camshafts, both of which help in improving fuel efficiency and reducing emission.
PCL already have exclusive rights to this new technology worldwide and are expanding their market. In India, PCL will be supplying its new camshafts to manufacturers such as Maruti Suzuki, Tata and Mahindra and Mahindra, while globally, they also supply to Porsche, Ford, BMW, GM, Fiat and Hyundai.
PCL's manufacturing facility is located in Solapur with 6 foundries units and 3 machine shops. The company currently focuses on export, but also holds a major share of the Indian market and about 8% of the international market in the camshaft segment.
Speaking on the occasion Mr. Yatin Shah, Chairman and Managing Director, Precision Camshafts Limited said, "PCL has been the industry leader in delivering quality and world-class camshafts to its customers consistently. We have created benchmarks across all processes and are surpassing customer expectations time and again, while working with some of the largest marquee brands in the Indian and the global automotive industry. PCL, through the acquisition of this technology will be a complete solution provider for camshafts manufactured by different technologies"
