Porsche Macan To Launch In India; 2014
The German sports car maker Porsche has shown intent to launch its sports SUV, for Indian market. They plan to launch the urban SUV in the latter half of the year. This is the same car that people call the baby Cayenne, as it looks similar to it.
The car was first exhibited to the masses at the 2013 LA Motor Show. When brought to India, Porsche is expected to price the Macan between Rs. 70 lakhs and 1.2 crores ex-showroom.
The Macan will garb Porsche's signature design however, in terms of look, it will be worth every penny spent.

The Macan is a sports car in guise of a SUV, it is based on Audi Q5 platform. To retain the Porsche dynamics, they switched most of the components.

The Macan will be offered in both Petrol as well as Diesel options. The diesel engine for India most likely will be a 3.0-litre, V6 configured engine and will generate 258 PS of power. It will achieve naught to 100 in 6.3 seconds.
For the true petrolhead, a Twin-Turbo option generating 400 PS of power from a V6 engine. It will do 0-100 km/hr in 4.8 seconds.
The Porsche Macan will feature PDK double-clutch transmission and Porsche Traction Management (PTM) active all-wheel drive system as standard. A Sports Chrono package can be opted to boost performance figures.

Porsche is aiming high with its Macan and expects to sell volumes. The Indian customer loves SUVs however, will he ditch options from Mercedes, Land Rover and Audi.
The Macan is priced higher in comparison to competitors however, it offers better ride dynamics than others. Porsche's Cayenne tasted success and is India's best selling model for the German manufacturer.
