Polaris Launch Their Slingshot Roadster
The Slingshot has been in the making for a while now and finally Polaris has launched the production version. They have launched two variants of the reverse trike in base and SL variants. The bare naked vehicle is a definite head turner and is street legal.
The three wheeled Slingshot can accommodate two full sized adults. Polaris has provided a 2.4-litre engine from General Motors to power the vehicle - the engineers have been able to extract 173 horsepower along with a peak torque output of 225 Nm.

The engine has been mounted in front and provides power to the single rear wheel at the rear. It is mated to a 5-speed manual gearbox, along with a 36mm final drive belt made from carbon fibre. The Slingshot weighs just 782 kilograms.
Polaris has launched the Slingshot, however, deliveries of the machine will commence in 2015. The base variant will cost approximately INR 12,02,398 and the SL trim will cost roughly INR 14,43,539. It is a must buy for those who love to have fun in vehicles on both tarmac as well as off-road.

The Slingshot will sport a three point seatbelt, traction control, electronic stability, bucket seats, LED lights and forged aluminium wheels. The SL trim features additional features like a media console with USB, Bluetooth and a camera back up. Polaris has taken their time developing their Slingshot and will go on sale early next year.
The Slingshot will face competition from the Caterham 7 as well as KTM's Crossbow.
