Nissan GT Academy India Qualification
Nissan has already established their GT Academy in the UK and Germany. India is their new venue in search of talent. It is a great opportunity for people who are wanting to get into motorsport and are willing to dedicate their time.
The GT Academy will be held in various cities of India and is currently being held in Mumbai at R-City Mall, Ghatkopar till 23rd of March.

The other locations Nissan's planning to organise their GT Academy are Inorbit Mall, Hyderabad 17th to 20th April. Next will be Bengaluru at Mantri Mall on 15th to 18th May, last venue will be Chennai, Royapettah, Express Avenue Mall on June 5th to 8th.
We spoke to Nissan Managing Director, Kenichiro Yomura, as to how this benefits Nissan, he explains, "Nissan means excitement and wants to fulfill its promise to deliver its customers, through the GT Academy."
We asked Sudarshan Balsekar, Sr. Marketing Manager Nissan, what they have planed for GT Academy qualifiers, he states there will be 8 winners selected from India for National qualifiers and two will be selected for a boot camp at Silverstone. There will be winners from 6 other Nations and they will go through rigorous mental and physical training. They will also receive media etiquettes and how to present themselves.
We were curious about what if the winner could not afford the training, Sudarshan replied, Nissan will be sponsoring every requirement of the winner and he will be representing them in Endurance competitions like Le Mans and other challenges.
Sudarshan also shared with us that India really has some talent as the best time from UK was 2 minutes flat; however, in Delhi they witnessed a lap time of 2:05:000, while a chap from Mumbai has posted a blistering lap time of 1 minute 59 seconds odd. He explained that he expects the time to get better in Bangalore!
We personally tried the simulator and it is highly realistic and demands a lot of precision from feathering the right foot to changing gears right before it redlines. The feedback from the steering wheel is precise, if you need to practice get on your PlayStations asap!
