Nissan Register A Growth Of 3.4% In 2013 To 2014

Nissan has officially announced an increase of 3.4% in sales compared to their last years efforts. Nissan sold 36,975 vehicles in India in the previous fiscal year. However, the 2013-2014 fiscal year shows an increase in sales numbers, 38,217.

Nissan India explains that the sales numbers were hugely responsible thanks to the launch of their Terrano vehicle. The SUV has been a major contributor in terms of sales for the Japanese manufacturer.

The Japanese car manufacturer also offers hatchbacks in India in the form of Micra Active and Micra. Out of their total sales figure the hatchback segment achieved 12,595 vehicles sold.

Nissan has recently launched a sub-brand called Datsun in India, it has been over a ten days since the official launch. However, their compact car the GO has already reported bookings of over 2,072 vehicles. This is good news for the Japanese car brand.

In the month of March alone of 2014, Nissan has reported sales of 7,019 vehicles over 2,125 vehicles it sold in March 2013. This is a gigantic growth of almost 230%.

Nissan now has a sister brand in India, Datsun. This should help the Japanese company to gain more in the coming fiscal year. The GO from Datsun has been accepted by Indian customers and the future looks bright with their GO+ and Redi GO models.
