Nissan Beats Maruti Suzuki To Become Third Largest Exporter
Maruti Suzuki has lost its coveted title of being the second largest exporter of automobiles in India to Nissan motors India. Hyundai Motor India continues to be largest car exporter out of India, a decade after it grabbed the number one spot from Maruti Suzuki.
In the last financial year, demand for Nissan's Micra and Sunny models in international markets was more than A-Star, Alto and DZire models manufactured by Maruti Suzuki in India for exports.
Nissan India exported 1.16 lakh cars, growing by 18 percent, even as Maruti Suzuki's exports fell down by 16 percent, to 1.01 lakh cars, as per ET data

Nissan India looks to further strengthen its export business by including car parts and completely knocked down to shipments to African and European markets. In fact, 85 percent of all cars manufactured by Nissan at its Chennai facility are exported. Nissan's exports will get a further boost once Datsun production picks up.
Maruti Suzuki, on the other hand, has stopped exporting to Europe (its largest overseas market) as Suzuki's Thailand facility has been assigned to handle this. Meanwhile, Maruti will concentrate on emerging markets of Middle East, Africa and the South East Asia.
Hyundai Motor India, continues to be the leader with 2.33 lakh unit exports during the last financial year. Hyundai sells its Eon, Santro, i10, Grand i10, Accent (Verna) and i20 models manufactured in India in over 120 countries.
