Enzo Ferrari Biopic Could Get Back On Track Soon
Italian automotive icon, the founder of Ferrari, Enzo Anselmo Ferrari, could soon get a new biopic based on Brock Yates 1991 book, Enzo Ferrari: The Man, the Cars, the Races.
Los Angeles based production company Cecchi Gori Pictures is currently working hard to get financing for the movie and is now said to be close to getting the final approval to begin shooting.
The story, scripted by Troy Kennedy Martin (of The Italian Job fame) and David Rayfield has been ready since 2004, with Al Pacino playing Enzo Ferrari. But the movie was shelved after the passing away of Director Sydney Pollack.

"It's a beautiful tale of the story of Ferrari battling with Maserati for supremacy in speed, yet it's not a racing movie: It's a ‘Godfather' movie with racing in it," Cecchi Gori Pictures CEO Niels Juul tells Variety
Juul also said that he is in advanced talks with a well-known U.S. director who has passion for the project, without giving a name.
