Upcoming Bugatti Veyron To Get 1,500 Horses!
The Bugatti Veyron has been the one car whose wow factor hasn't diminished over the almost 10 years of its existence. However, industry sources now say the Veyron is to get even more power, from the current 1,200 horsepower up to around 1,500!

It has become the vehicle that so many manufacturers compare their sports models to, and constantly strive to beat somehow, either with regards to power-to-weight ratios, acceleration figures or top speeds.

The story continues in the next slide.

The new Veyron is set to receive a new hybrid system which will take the car's power to the region of an mind-boggling 1,500 horsepower.

That the Veyron is going the hybrid route for more power doesn't come as too much of a surprise - supercars from the stables of Porsche, Ferrari and McLaren have already gone down this road.

The ultimate supercar should beat the 268 mph (431 km/h) top speed of the current SuperSport, but will need extensive development to achieve that milestone, especially with regard to the aerodynamics of the car.

If Volkswagen (owner of Bugatti) does manage to give the Veyron a higher top speed, it would win back the controversially held title of World's Fastest Production Car from the Hennessey Venom GT, which is said to have a top speed of 270 mph.
