New BMW X5 Launching In India Soon
BMW will be launching their third-generation X5 in India. The SUV was codenamed F15 and the German luxury automobile manufacturer has been developing this car for almost a year now. The earlier generation X5 was revealed in 2013 and was launched later in 2014.
BMW dealers have begun the procedure of booking and the car is stated to launch in the latter part of May. We expect customers to get their luxury SUV by mid-June of 2014.

The German-made SUV will be powered by a 3.0-litre diesel engine which, will produce 560 Nm of torque along with 259 bhp, the same powertrain as their 5-series and 7-series cars.
BMW had showcased a smaller 2.0-litre diesel engine at the 2014 Auto Expo which, was held in Greater Noida, Delhi earlier in 2014. They called the engine xDrive25d, it produces 450 Nm of peak torque and 218 bhp. The luxury car manufacturer hasn't confirmed this engine for India.

We expect BMW to price their new X5 base variant which, will be a 5-seater that costs INR 70 lakh. There will also be a 7-seater option which, will cost a bit more at INR 75 lakh. All prices are ex-showroom Delhi.

BMW's new X5 SUV will be bigger but lighter than the outgoing model. Since the X5 will be offered in both a 5-seater as well as a 7-seater configuration, we expect this to further boost their sales.
