MRF Tyres Receive Customer Satisfaction Award For Fifth Year
MRF stood first for a fifth year in a row, providing the highest customer satisfaction. The tyre manufacturer scored a total of 850 points. The tyres were tested for durability, appearance as well as other driving factors.
Bridgestone was very close to MRF; However, it lost by, just two points. The other tyre manufacturers that came close were Apollo, JK Tyre and Goodyear.
An important observation was, attention to appearance in this years tyres. A drastic improvement was reported since the last four years. A decline of almost 10% was reported in tyre issues faced by owners, which is a good sign.
Mohit Arora, executive Director, J.D. Power Asia Pacific, explains,"Brand familiarity and perceptions of safety are key drivers of their purchases."
He further added,"The majority of vehicle owners tend to refit the same brand of tires as their OE fitment because of familiarity and perceptions of safety, assuming that the vehicle manufacturer would have tested the tires on critical quality and safety parameters before fitment."
The JD Power Report shows customers have opted to use the same tyres that their vehicle came originally with. An increase of from 57% in 2012 was reported at close to 65% in 2014.
2014 India Original Equipment Tire Customer Satisfaction Index Study was taken into account from over 4,449 responses from new vehicle owners. The owners selected were, customer who purchased their vehicles between May 2011 to August 2012. The study was held between May and August of 2013.
