Gujarat To Launch Pilot Project For Electric Buses
Since Narendra Modi has been elected unanimously as the Prime Minister of India. He has been implementing and getting India on the right track for the future. He has also expressed his keen interest in alternate fuel sources. There will also be benefits on electric vehicles by the government.
Now as the first step to a greener tomorrow and an attempt to cut down the use of petroleum. Gujarat will be introducing electric buses all through the state. They will first introduce its electric buses on the Gandhinagar to Ahmedabad route.
Gujarat Power Corporation Limited will be introducing electric buses as a pilot project. The initial phase of this project will include roughly 15 to 20 electric buses. It is part of former Chief Minister of Gujarat Narendra Modi's plan for a cleaner and greener state.

'Electric Vehicles and Solar Based Electric Charging System' is GPCL plan for an environment friendly world, mixed with innovative ideas. The Chief Minister of State Narendra Modi had introduced a climate change department.
Part of their project also is to set up solar powered electric charging station. They will implement this idea between Ahmedabad to Gandhinagar, which is a 35 km stretch. They will be installing charging points at regular intervals.

The plan is to begin ground work by the end of 2014. However, officials have not disclosed, when the project will be ready for use. The State government will also monitor the electric buses, along with the solar powered charging stations. We wish more states would follow this path and go green with public transport.
