Mercedes-Benz Reveals Its AMG GT Engine
German luxury car manufacturer is soon to launch its Mercedes AMG GT supercar. Now prior to the launch of its vehicle, they have revealed the mammoth size engine for its Mercedes AMG GT vehicle. It is supposed to be the most innovative, powerful and efficient engine made till date by the German manufacturer.
The Mercedes AMG GT car will sport a 4.0-litre, V8 configured twin turbo engine. It will be capable of producing 650 Nm of peak torque, along with a maximum power of 510 horsepower. The engine will take flat four seconds to hit the 100 km/h mark from a standstill.
Tobias Moers, Chairman of the Board of Management of Mercedes-AMG GmbH explained, "V8 engines are an integral part of the AMG philosophy and the brand's commitment to 'Driving Performance'. The V8 biturbo engine for our new GT is going to delight our customers!"

Mercedes-Benz claims its mammoth engine will weigh only 209 kilograms. It is lighter and more efficient than the 6.3-litre V8 AMG mill that powers the SLS AMG by the German automobile giant. The new engine will be mounted on active mounts that can monitor the car movement and will balance the engine accordingly.
The AMG badge is famous for its roaring exhaust note of its V8 configured engines. The AMG GT by Mercedes has received special attention and gets an exhaust system with variable exhaust flaps. They are smart and are regulated on the transmission mode. The flaps in the exhaust open totally when the accelerate is pinned down and will have the best audible exhaust note till date.

Christian Enderle, Head of Engine and Powertrain Development at Mercedes-AMG expressed, "The new AMG 4.0-litre V8 biturbo sees us presenting an exciting and powerful sports car engine which, thanks to a number of measures, also represents the next step in efficiency."
