Maruti Suzuki CNG Variant Celerio Coming Soon

Maruti Suzuki is known to be the best seller of small vehicles like the Maruti 800, Alto and more. They had launched their new small car the Suzuki Celerio at the 2014 Auto Expo that was held at New Delhi. The vehicle has amassed extensive booking and has a wait period of roughly eight to nine months.

The success story of this vehicle lied in the fact that it was the most affordable vehicle that offers an automatic gearbox. The Celerio by the Japanese manufacturer accounts to almost 1000 bookings every month and is hot seller for Suzuki.

Now Suzuki has decided that they will offer their fast selling Celerio with a CNG option. However, the CNG variant will sport a manual gearbox and will not be available in the automatic option. The new CNG variant will be introduced to the Celerio range in June, 2014.

Maruti Suzuki will provide the CNG option Celerio with a 1.0-litre petrol engine, which will generate 90 Nm of peak torque along with 68 horsepower. The engine will be coupled with a 5-speed manual gearbox and is expected to deliver superior fuel efficiency.

CNG is currently priced at RS 38 per kilogram in Delhi and is far more economical than regular petrol. The CNG variant of Suzuki's Celerio will surely cost a bit more than the normal petrol powered vehicle.

Celerio will also be offered in a diesel option however, we expect the CNG option to be available before the diesel trim. Maruti Suzuki currently offers CNG on several of their vehicles as standard fitment. The CNG Celerio will be a must buy for those who believe in using alternative fuels and a cleaner environment.
