Production Of Maruti K-Series Engine Crosses 25 Lakh Mark
India's largest car manufacturer Maruti has made an official announcement saying that production of their K-series engine has crossed the 25 lakh units mark today.
Introduced in 2008 in the A-Star, the engine powers models like the Alto K10, Celerio, Wagon R and Swift. This petrol motor also powers the models which have an option to run on alternate fuel like CNG and LPG.
CV Raman, Executive Director, Engineering for Maruti said that this is the most fuel efficient petrol engine in India. The engine is able to combine the best in class fuel economy with good performance.

He also added saying that engine refinement is an ongoing process and Maruti will incorporate new technologies that will further increases fuel efficiency and cut down on emission levels. He said all the new models will have this engine.
In this year till July, Maruti has grown by 14.7 percent in sales, selling 4,01,274 units compared to last years sales of 3,49,733 units during the same time.
Domestic sales of Maruti has grown by 12.6 percent, making it 3,60,736 units during this period while their exports went up by 38.6 percent to 40,538 units in the ongoing fiscal.
