Mahindra Adventure Wins Rally Of Coimbatore 2014
Mahindra vehicles are known for off-road nature and reliability in extreme conditions. The Indian carmaker competes in almost every rally and off-road championship in the nation. The had recently taken part in the 'Rally of Coimbatore'.
Mahindra used its XUV500 SUV, that draws inspiration from a Cheetah. They participated as 'Team Mahindra Adventure' and have conquered the second round of Indian Rally Championship. They have successfully secured the first and third place in Rally of Coimbatore.
Vivek Nayer, Chief Marketing Officer, Automotive Division, Mahindra & Mahindra Ltd. expressed, "This unprecedented victory by the Mahindra vehicles is a testimony to the tough and rugged 'Mahindra DNA'. We were tested against the vehicles which are petrol based but have emerged undefeated yet again."

He further added, "Having been adjudged fastest amongst all categories and winning top positions in the first round of the Indian Rally Championship, we are proud to be the fastest in the second round at the Rally of Coimbatore, as well. Time and again our vehicles have proven their mettle against the competition and we will continue to do so in the rest of the upcoming IRC season this year."
The first place by Team Mahindra Adventure was won by Gaurav Gill, who is the reigning APRC Champion, along with co-driver Musa Sheriff. The third place was secured by current Desert Storm Champ Sunny Sidhu, along with co-driver PVS Murthy. Their rally prepped XUV500s proved to be superior against the competition at Rally of Coimbatore.
The Rally of Coimbatore was flagged off from the Kari Motor Speedway. The rally cars were flagged off with two minutes of interval between them. Each and every was fitted with a GPS tracking system for safety as well as to check on routes and speed. This was the second stage out of six, the remaining races are to be held in Chennai, Bangalore, Calcutta and Chikmagalur late in December.
