Lamborghini Urus SUV To Be Built In Slovakia
Lamborghini has showcased their concept SUV, the Urus many times at various motor shows. They have finally confirmed that they will manufacture this uber-luxurious SUV. The Italian iconic manufacturer suggests their SUV should be ready for 2017.
For people who believe in the purist logic will not like where the Urus will be manufactured though. The Italian will build their luxury SUV in Slovakia. The plant will be shared by the Volkswagen group that build Audi Q7 and VW Touareg.
Lamborghini could start their production in 2017 at the Bratislava facility in Slovakia. The Italian builds its supercars normally in their facility in Sant'Agata. They build their current line of vehicles the Huracan and Aventador in Italy itself.
Potential buyers could lose interest knowing the fact that the SUV isn't made in Italy. The motive behind buying an Italian car may be lost if the SUV is manufactured from Slovakia.
We aren't saying that Slovakia can't build a quality product. We are simply saying we would not buy an Italian car if it was not made in Italy.
The Urus is targeted to a different list of clientele who may not be deterred by the fact that it is built in Slovakia. Lamborghini's SUV is focused at Russia, Middle East and China. We will have to wait till 2017 to see how the Urus fares and whether it appeals to potential buyers.
