Karun Chandhok To Compete In Formula E With Mahindra Racing
Formula E is scheduled to begin in September, 2014 and the FIA has revealed several exotic places where the races will take place. An Indian team has enrolled itself for the inaugural season with a race driver from Madras. The Indian team is none other than Mahindra Racing and they will be signing two race drivers.
So far this year Mahindra Racing will be the only Indian team in Formula E. They have surprised all by signing an Indian driver for their electric vehicle. The drivers competing with Mahindra Racing's car will be former Formula One driver Karun Chandhok and Ayrton Senna's nephew, Bruno Senna from Brazil.

The official signing is expected to be done today in Mumbai. Where Karun Chandhok will receive a contract from Mahindra's Racing Team for Formula E. The change from Formula One to Formula E was not expected however, it is great news to know there will be an Indian team with an Indian driver at the revolutionary championship.
Mahindra currently competes in Moto3 as well as CIV Championship. Both are two wheelers and this will be the first time the manufacturer will be competing on four wheels in a global event. Mahindra Racing is the youngest manufacturer in Moto3 to source their bikes to other teams.

We had expected Mahindra to announce Karun Chandhok as their Formula E driver at the 2014 Auto Expo held at New Delhi. They have so far delayed it and have finally announced both their drivers. Karun and Bruno were teammates in Formula One, while they have competed against each other in the lower divisions too.
There will be ten teams competing this year in the inaugural Formula E. Indian racers Narain Karthikeyan and Karun Chandhok were enlisted in the Driver's Club of Formula E. Audi Sport ABT and Virgin Racing are the only two teams to have confirmed their drivers for the upcoming race at Beijing.

These cars will run on electricity and you need not worry about fast paced action as the cars can easily achieve speeds up to 150 miles per hour. Ten races have been scheduled for 2014 and all of them will be street races. The races will be held in Los Angeles, Monte Carlo, London and several other exotic locations too.
