Jeep Coming To India Not Before 2015
Jeep is currently owned by Fiat Chrysler and had earlier announced that it would be launching the SUV brand in India by 2013. However, they have changed their mind and are planning to bring the Jeep brand next year in 2015.
The reason being presented for not introducing the Jeep brand this year is the economic slowdown as well as poor auto sales. Fiat India has confirmed it will be soon announcing plans for Jeep in India within the coming months.
The fate of Jeep in India will be determined after analysing the market trend in the following months. After which, they will decide the roadmap that Fiat Chrysler will choose for the American based brand.

They have launched the other products in India that the Italian manufacturer had promised. Fiat had promised a refreshed Linea and Punto and have launched these products successfully. They are now planning an appropriate time to launch its crossover Avventura in India within 2014.
Fiat had also showcased its Abarth 500 at the 2014 Auto Expo, which was held in Delhi. They had confirmed they would launch its power packed vehicle in 2014 itself. The Abarth 500 is expected to launch within this calendar year.

When Jeep is launched they will bring the SUVs to India as a CBU, however, they are looking at options to get it as a CKD. The American based manufacturer will offer the Cherokee and Wrangler. Fiat Chrysler if they get the Jeep brand to in India, it will not be prior to 2015.
