Isuzu Max Run Challenge Crosses The Finish Line
Isuzu Motors has recently entered India with its new products, which they had showcased at the 2014 Auto Expo held In New Delhi. They had earlier commenced their ‘Isuzu Max Run Challenge', which was scheduled for three days.
The Japanese manufacturer had organised a three day drive from Vijayawada to Mumbai. The ‘Isuzu Max Run Challenge' was held on 23rd to 25th of September, 2014. They used their D-Max pickup truck for the challenge drive.
Isuzu's D-Max pickup truck achieved the drive from Vijayawada to Mumbai within one full tank. The D-Max provided fuel efficiency figures of 18.3 kpl. A distance of 1000 kilometres was achieved within a single full tank.
Three D-Max pickup trucks drove through Hyderabad, Solapur, Pune and finally reaching Mumbai. To calculate the exact kilometres driven the pickup trucks were fitted with GPS System. It also helped in real time tracking of the vehicles.
Takashi Kikuchi, President and Managing Director, Isuzu Motors India, commented, "It is an important and exciting day for us, since our three day Isuzu Max run challenge concludes today. We are extremely happy to have organized such a drive."
He further added, "The Isuzu Max Run Challenge is a global initiative that has been successfully undertaken in Australia, Philippines, Thailand, Malaysia and the Middle East. World over the Isuzu D-Max is known for its excellent fuel efficiency, power, torque, operating economy and we wanted to prove the same in India as well."
Isuzu currently offers a single passenger vehicle in India called the MU7. It sports a 2999 cc 4-cylinder, intercooled VGS Turbo diesel engine. It produces 360 Nm of peak torque, along with 160.70 horsepower. They have priced their MU7 at INR 19,69,000 ex-showroom, Mumbai.
The Japanese manufacturer also offers its D-Max commercial vehicle, which has been growing in popularity steadily. The D-Max comes in three models with two cabin and deck options. It is powered by a 2499 cc intercooled turbocharged diesel engine. It has been priced at INR 6,11,000 ex-showroom, Mumbai.
