Hyundai Xcent Bookings Going Strong
Hyundai recently launched their new sub-four-metre sedan, the Xcent. The new car has generated great demand and the dealers are being hounded with enquiries.
Hyundai explains they have been receiving over 450 bookings on a daily basis. Most bookings are for the petrol variant, while the diesel variant is not too far behind. This could increase the growth of Hyundai further.
Officials believe this is due to customers trust in Hyundai's build quality and reliability of parts and components. The price of Xcent too has played a vital role in the excellent growth in bookings.
The Xcent petrol has a 1.2 litre kappa dual VTVT engine, it will cost INR 4.66 lakh. The diesel variant will have a smaller 1.1 litre U2 technology engine and will start at a price of INR 5.56 lakh. The Korean car manufacturer may offer an automatic variant to gain an advantage with buyers.
Hyundai explain they have been getting test drive requests from over 40,000 people, while close to a lakh people have officially inquired about the Xcent. So far the car has achieved 11,000 bookings since its launch.
The Xcent will have face competition from established names like Honda Amaze and Suzuki Dzire. These two cars have been selling impressively for their individual parent companies
If the trend continues, we can expect the auto industry to grow at a steady pace and recover its lost glory.
