Hyundai Motor India Limited or HMIL, has recorded an increase in sales for the month of April 2014. The South-Korean automobile manufacturer is among the leading car sellers in India.
While Hyundai is the country's second largest car manufacturer, it is also one of the largest passenger car exporters. The company accounted selling 35,248 vehicles locally, while they exported 14,974 vehicles in April this year alone.
The South-Korean manufacturer in total sold 50,222 vehicles in April 2014, an increase of 8% in sales compared to the same month last year.

In April 2013, the South-Korean manufacturer reported sales of 32,403 vehicles. They also exported 24,550 of their cars, taking total sales last April to 56,953 units.
Hyundai have reduced their exports in the month of April 2014 however, their domestic sales have been high. Rakesh Srivastava, Sr. VP- Sales and Marketing, HMIL stated,"We foresee to maintain this positive momentum in this year by strengthening product portfolio and improving channel efficiencies."

He also said,"Hyundai with a volume of 35,248 units has grown by 8.8% over last year which is in line with this year's objective of growth in volume and market share. Growth is led by sedan and utility vehicles across geographies, with new products Xcent, Grand and Santa Fe, adding volumes with an overwhelming response from customers."
It is heartening to see a manufacturer recovering lost ground in times when most others are reporting low sales.
