Hyundai India To Introduce Compact SUV In 2015
The Indian automobile sector was in a slump for a few years. However, manufacturers are expecting a turnaround soon in their fortune. The upcoming festive season is round the corner and manufacturers are hurrying up, as to not lose their customers.
The previously unknown segment in India of compact SUVs is catching up soon. Almost every manufacturer is trying to launch an offering in the lucrative segment. South Korean automobile giant Hyundai too wants to join the party.
Hyundai has recently launched its updated hatchback, re-christened as 'Elite i20' in India. The South Korean based manufacturer had earlier in the year launched its compact sedan the Xcent around 2014 Auto Expo, which was held in Delhi.

Rakesh Srivastava HMIL Vice President Sales and Marketing told source, "From this year we have started entering segment where we are not present. We will continue to do this in the coming years to enter segments where we are not present currently."
He also said that Hyundai India will soon enter the compact SUV and MPV segment. The manufacturer believes there is good growth potential in these segments, which are doing particularly well in India. They refused to comment on which among the two would launch first.
