Hyundai India Recall 2347 Santa Fe
Of late, there have been several manufacturers that have ordered recalls for various reasons. Now Hyundai India will be recalling Santa Fe cars that were assembled during the year 2011. The South-Korean manufacturer brought the vehicle to India as a Completely Knocked Down(CKD) unit.
Hyundai India sold a decent volume of the Santa Fe in India. The recall is due to a faulty brake lamp switch, which can malfunction. Hyundai India has asked its dealers to replace the parts free of cost. They have also asked its dealers to inform individuals who purchased the Santa Fe between 2011 and 2013.

A manufacturer cannot always be blamed for a default or defect in certain parts. In order to keep prices of their vehicles low companies outsource certain parts and there could be an issue with those. This on the whole makes the manufacturer look bad and creates a sort of negative publicity.
We believe recalls are good news, as the manufacture has the ability to admit there is a problem and they rectify usually for free. We also expect manufacturers to be able to find issues with parts a bit more earlier. It usually takes manufacturer a year or two to figure out a defect or malfunction in their equipment.

Hyundai recently showcased their new generation Santa Fe at the 2014 Auto Expo in New Delhi. It will be interesting to see whether the recall will affect potential buyers or see them continue to trust the brand. The Santa Fe is a great vehicle, which is fully loaded with tech-goodies and gadgets.

Hyundai India has been paying attention to the complaints and feedback of owners, which is great news. The recall is a great way for the manufacturer to ensure the customers trust in the brand once again. The manufacturer has also reported that no accidents or injuries have been reported due to the faulty brake lamp switch.
