Honda Targets Higher Growth In Regional Markets
Honda Cars India Limited (HCIL), is focusing to expand its stance in the country. The expansion drive includes increasing dealership network, production capacity and the product portfolio.
On the success of the 4th generation Honda City, family sedan Honda Amaze and the newly launched mid- size MPV Honda Mobilio, HCIL registered an overall growth of 43 percent during the period April - October 2014.
The ongoing financial year has proved to be a year full of opportunities and expansion for Honda Cars India Limited. Owing to the strong demand of the products, the company is aggressively expanding its dealership network in the country focusing on existing & newer Tier III markets.
HCIL aims at expanding its dealership network by 35 percent during 2014-15 and take the number of dealerships to 230 in 150 cities by March 2015. Earlier this month, Honda Cars India inaugurated its 200th dealership in India and announced its plans to add 100 new dealers in the next 16 months by March 2016.
Jnaneswar Sen, the Sr. Vice President of Marketing and Sales said, "We are thankful to our customers for the great response we have achieved for our cars. We launched the new City and the Mobilio in 2014 and both models have done very well in their respective segments."
"Honda Amaze has also established itself as the preferred family sedan for more than 1 lakh customers in India. Madhya Pradesh accounts for 3 percent of HCIL's national sales. As we expand our business, it is important for us to move even closer to our customers to be able to provide them with best customer services at nationwide level."
He further added, "The demand for our models is quite strong and we have been bucking the industry de-growth by posting good sales. This fiscal year is going to be our 3rd consecutive year of positive growth."
