GM To Export Chevrolet Beat To Chile From India
General Motors have officially announced that they will commence the production of their Beat hatchback for export markets. The car will be manufactured at their Talegaon facility in India and will be exported to Chile. They will begin sales of their Beat in Chile by 2015.
They will have to modify the Beat a bit as in Chile the drivers will require a left-hand drive hatchback , while the Indian spec Beat is a right-hand drive. Other than that there would be no significant changes to the vehicle.

General Motors has been offering its Beat hatchback in several markets around the world. The Beat is the manufacturers most fuel-efficient model. It is offered in both petrol as well as in diesel options.
Arvind Saxena, GM India President and Managing Director said, "The start of Beat exports underlines GM's commitment to India and demonstrates the quality of the country's growing supplier base."

He further added, "The exports will create more employment opportunities within GM India and the supplier community while helping improve capacity utilization at the Talegaon Plant."
General Motors believe they have sufficient capacity to cater to Indian demands and this is the first time the manufacturer has broken its philosophy of manufacturing where they sell. They have not fully utilised their facility and have opted to export the Beat hatchback to Chile.
