Ghibli By Maserati Launched At INR 9800000
Maserati has launched the Ghibli and Ghibli S with a price tag of INR 98,00,000 and their range topping model is INR 1,15,00,000. The luxury car will be available in both petrol as well as in diesel variant. Maserati has launched the Ghibli in Malaysia and will be soon bound for India.
The Ghibli and Ghibli S in European markets compete with the likes of Mercedes-Benz E-Class and BMW 5-series. This is Maserati's flagship model and they have targeted to sell 50,000 vehicles by 2015.
This is the first time Maserati will offer two vehicles in the same category with a 4-door option. The flagship Maserati Ghibli is lighter as well as shorter than their own Quattroporte.
The Ghibli will be powered by an all new V6 3.0-litre power packed engine, which will be mated to 8-speed auto transmission. The engine will be produced by the Italian Prancing Horse Ferrari, it will be produced at their facility at Maranello.
The Ghibli will extract 500 Nm of peak torque along with 330 horsepower. It can sprint from 0-100 km/h in 5.6 seconds and its top speed has been electronically restricted to 263 km/h.
Maserati will offer a sportier option of their Ghibli, the Ghibli S. Both the cars will sport the same engine however, they will have a different tune. The Ghibli S will produce 550 Nm of torque along with 410 horsepower.
The Ghibli S will hit the 100 km/h mark from standstill in 5 seconds. It can achieve a top speed of 285 km/h. Maserati will provide both their vehicles with parallel twin turbochargers. They will also feature direct injection for better fuel efficiency.
Maserati Ghibli will feature exquisite Poltrona Frau leather for the seats. The leather will be introduced to the dashboard as well and will contrast the carbon finish plastic. At the centre of the dashboard will be Maserati's Touch Control System, you can control everything in the cabin on the 8.4 inch display. It however, cannot control the air-conditioner.
The Ghibli costs RM 5,38,800 while, their sportier option will cost RM 6,28,800 in Malaysia. They have currently launched it in Malaysia and is soon expected to hit the Indian subcontinent. Maserati would love to compete in India as well with BMW and Mercedes.
