General Motors Struggling In India
The American based General Motors has been offering its vehicles in India, since a long time. They have recently been not doing well in terms of sales and are reporting decline month after month. They have reported that in the month of May, 2014 they sold only 4,865 vehicles.
In the same month in 2013, General Motors had managed to record sales of roughly 8,500 vehicles. The American based company has reported that they sold 1,076 Tavera's, 1,716 Beat's and only 934 Enjoy in May, 2014.

P Balendran, General Motors India Vice President, told source "The automobile industry has been passing through challenging times for the past two years as the general economic and consumer sentiments have failed to pick up." He further added, "Going forward, we hope to see some improvement in the market in the coming months with a new decisive government in place."
General Motors had earlier reported that they will be utilising their India facility to export its Beat to international markets. This was the first time the manufacturer broke it's policy. They usually have a strict policy of manufacturing where they sell.

In India their sales have been dipping low to better utilise its facility General Motors had decided it would export its Beat hatchback to Latin America, Chile and several other places. They would have to convert the vehicles from right hand drive to left hand drive.
