FUSO Trucks Made In Chennai Exported To Tanzania
Daimler India Commercial Vehicles Ltd has started exporting its Chennai built FUSO branded trucks to the African nation of Tanzania. Mitsubishi FUSO Trucks and Bus Corporation (MFTBC) is a daimler company and has its presence in 35 African nations, which now includes Tanzania.
The export of FUSO branded trucks manufactured in India is part of Daimler's Asia Business Model that was started in May 2013 with exports to Sri Lanka, Kenya and Zambia. Tanzania becomes the fourth nation to fall under this export strategy. The plan is to export India built FUSO trucks to another 11 countries.

FUSO trucks will be sold in Tanzania through an exclusive dealership, Diamond Motors Limited. There are 5 models on offer consisting of Medium/Heavy-duty trucks (25 - 49 tonnes referred to as 'FJ', 'FO' & 'FZ') and Light/Medium-duty trucks (9 - 16 tonnes referred to as 'FA' & 'FI').
The FUSO brand has performed strongly in Africa where it has almost doubled sales in the first two months of this year, with numbers growing from 580 units in the same period last year to 1,060 units in 2014.
With a clear view on the growth potential in Africa, FUSO is in preparation to continuously add further markets to its strong market presence. Daimler Trucks Asia expects to gain additional growth momentum in the future markets on top of the current existing markets from its new Asia Business Model introduced in 2013. The new business model creates synergies by bundling the strengths of the Japan-based Mitsubishi Fuso Truck and Bus Corp. (MFTBC) and Daimler India Commercial Vehicles (DICV) under the Umbrella of Daimler Trucks Asia.
