Formula One To Make An Indian Comeback In 2016 Season
Formula One has a new policy adopted where they will rotate venues. Authorities plan to keep the main and iconic races permanent, while the new circuits will be rotated. This move was opted so that there is no pressure on new circuits and their management.
Recently Buddh International Circuit was dropped from the calendar with no definite answer. We believe this is the main reason for the omission of Indian GP. Now Bernie Ecclestone has meet up with organisers and promoters for the Indian GP comeback.
The sad news is that Indian fans of Formula One will have to wait for the 2016 season. The 2015 calendar has already been set and changes cannot be made to it. India successfully hosted three Grand Prix, however, in 2016 it will be the first time that the new machines will be in India.
Another reason why Formula One dropped the Indian GP was due to tax and several bureaucratic issues. The race promoters for Indian GP are Jaypee Sports International. Formula One Management had promised five races in India, they are fulfilling their contract and post that it is unclear if F1 will really return.
The presence of Formula One in India is vital for the growth of motor sports. Buddh International Circuit was also supposed to host WSBK championship round, however, due to tax and other hassles the two-wheeler championship distanced itself.
Bernie Ecclestone and Jaypee Sports International member met at Sochi Russian GP. It was decided there that the Formula One paddock will return to India in 2016. This is great news for fans and followers of Formula One, there are rumours that in 2016 there will be 22 Grand Prix.
