Formula One Mercedes Triumph At Monza GP
The Monza GP is a famous circuit on the Formula One calendar. It is of high significance as it is Ferrari's home race. Judging by the practice session, we were expecting at least one of the Scuderia Ferraris to achieve a podium. However, all sessions and qualifying were dominated by Mercedes-powered vehicles.
Mercedes AMG Petronas driver Lewis Hamilton was on pole, while team mate Nico Rosberg was second. The Brit is known for his quick getaways from a standstill, however, an electrical issue hampered him. This dropped Hamilton down to fourth place and teammate Rosberg to charge of proceedings.
The front runners made a fast run up ahead while, Kevin Magnussen in his McLaren slowed the rest down. Hamilton fought hard and took second place from Felipe Massa. The Brit had some ground to cover in order to catch Rosberg, however, a couple of mistakes made it easier to close in.
