Formula E Car Tested By Jarno Trulli
Former F1 driver Jarno Trulli will now be seen supporting Formula E Championship as a member of Drivers' club. He recently earned the opportunity to test the Spark-Renault SRT_01E.
The test session was held at La Ferte Gaucher circuit close to Choisy-le-Roe, France. The Formula E car sports a 200 kw battery, which translates close to 270bhp.
Jarno Trulli explained that the Formula E car behaves like a proper F1 car, within the cockpit sans the engine noise. However, the electric engine does make a noise and is different in the beginning.

The Spark-Renault Formula E car will bear a chassis from Dallara, an electric motor, gearbox and electronics from McLaren.
The batteries will be provided by Williams, Renault integrated system along with 18" bespoke Michelin rubber.
The Formula E cars are known for their incredible reliability and the SRT_01E is no less. It has so far completed over 1500 kms of testing without any hassles.
Trulli explains that an F1 car would have broken down several times, attempting to cover the same distance.

Jarno Trulli, the Italian is one of the experienced F1 drivers in todays time. He has competed in over 256 GP's and is 3rd overall among the drivers who has the most races under their belt.
The Italian follows Ruben's Barrichello along with Michael Schumacher and Riccardo Patrese at joint first. Trulli was famous for his exceptional pace in qualifying.
The Italian has driven for various manufacturers like Minardi, Prost, Jordan, Renault, Toyota and Lotus.
