Formula 1 Silverstone 2014 Results
The 2014 Silverstone Formula One weekend was filled with surprises and moments. The qualifying session on Saturday witnessed both Scuderia Ferrari not making it to Q2. The race also had its ups and downs.
The race began smoothly with every driver making it out of the 1st corner without contact. However, Kimi Raikkonen ran out of the road in the further corners and tried cutting back on track. The Finn lost control of his car and crashed into the wall, which costed several other drivers too.

The race had to be red flagged in the first lap itself and accident affected drivers made it back to the grid. However, Kimi Raikkonen looked injured and did not continue further. Felipe Massa was involved in the accident and could not take part further as his car was damaged beyond quick repairs. It was the Brazilians 200th GP and who could not compete in it.

The race restarted and Nico Rosberg led the race for the majority period. While team mate Hamilton was catching him soon, as the Brit opted for a different tyre strategy against his team mate. There was a final twist as Hamilton got close to Rosberg, the German's car got stuck in a gear and could not be driven, which led to retirement.

Hamilton then led for the remainder of the evening. The race did not end there as Williams Valtteri Bottas fought his way from the back for second position. Daniel Ricciardo continued his exceptional form by securing yet another podium finish.
Further back two World Champions Fernando Alonso and Sebastian Vettel fought for fifth place. The Ferrari seemed to have good pace, however, better tyres on the Red Bull improved Vettel's position.

Nico Hulkenberg for Force India, once again finished in the points, in eighth place. While team mate Sergio Perez secured 11th position. Jenson Button who was also driving at his home race secured his best finish this year in fourth place.
The next race will be contested at Hockenheim at the Grosser Preis Santander Von Deutschland. Qualifying will commence on 19th July, 2014 at 17:30 IST. While the race will begin at 17:30 IST on 20th July, 2014. Make sure you watch it as there are only ten races remaining and the title is swinging between Hamilton and Rosberg.
