Ford Order A Recall Of 692000 Vehicles
American Iconic car brand will be recalling two of their cars the C-Max hybrid and Escape SUV. Ford claims that there are two safety issues with their vehicles and will be recalling over 692,000 units. The problem has arisen with the vehicles sold in North America.
The problem has arisen with their recent batch of cars which, consist from 2013 to 2014. The Escape is said to suffer from two issues. First the curtain airbags may not deploy in certain accidents. Second, the door may not latch properly and could open while driving. The C-Max is said to suffer with only the first problem.
Ford has reported that so far there have been no accidents or injuries caused due to the issue with their vehicles. The curtain airbags can be easily fixed with a reprogram in software. The American manufacturer will reprogram the software for free. The problem would avoid the airbag from deflating in case of an accident.
Around 692,700 Ford Escapes may have an issue with their exterior door handles, which could avoid from it getting latched perfectly. The doors could unexpectedly open while driving. The dealers are asked to inspect the handles and if need be reposition them.
Ford report that there could be more vehicles affected in other countries where they sell their Escape and C-Max vehicles. The American manufacturer will be recalling 89,500 vehicles in Canada. Another 583,000 vehicles will be recalled in the U.S. and its territories. There are vehicles affected in Mexico too, roughly 20,000 units.
