Ford India Appoints Nigel Harris As President
Ford announced today that Nigel Harris, vice president sales and service, Ford Asia Pacific, will be the new president of Ford India. Harris will succeed Joginder Singh who will now play in the role of Director, Corporate Strategy, Ford Motor Company.
Harris will be in charge of managing and growing the manufacturing operations of Ford India. He will further lead the charge in product programs to serve both customers in India as well as the growing export business.
The new president will oversee the implementation of Ford's expansion plans in India. Chennai and Gujarat will be the upcoming facilities.
Harris will work from Ford India's corporate office in Gurgaon and would report directly to president, Ford Asia Pacific, David Schoch.

Dave Schoch, explained, "Nigel's vast experience with Ford globally will enable the Ford team in India to continue to deliver on our plan to provide great products, build a strong business and contribute to a better world."
He further added, "In addition, Nigel's deep understanding of the Indian market will help the company build on its strong foundation and develop a robust product strategy to ensure long term profitable growth for the Company and a bright future for everyone associated with Ford in India."
Harris began his career with Ford in 1985 from New Zealand as a fleet sales analyst. He has held various positions in Europe, Africa and Asia Pacific.
He has also been associated with Indian operations. During Ford's entry into the Indian market, he served as the brand development manager for global B cars.
Harris continued his current role of overseeing sales, distribution and service for Asia Pacific, which also included India.
