2014 Ford Focus At Geneva Motor Show

The new Ford Focus receives a facelift and will be officially unveiled at Geneva Motor Show in the coming month. The manufacturer will be revealing both a hatchback and estate version of the car.

The Focus will receive exterior as well as interior updates. It will sport the manufacturers global design philosophy, used in the upcoming Mondeo and Fiesta.

A 1.6 litre four-cylinder petrol engine will be available in three variations 84 bhp, 104 bhp and 123 bhp. A diesel 1.5 litre TDCi engine will be offered in 94 bhp and 118 bhp.

A much powerful 1.6 litre TDCi engine will deliver 94 bhp and 113 bhp. Along with that a monster 2.0 litre TDCi delivering 148 bhp will thrill all.

Ford will also make available its EcoBoost engine range with a new 1.5 litre petrol EcoBoost generating either 148 bhp or 178 bhp. Ford may also add a 1.0 litre EcoBoost engine in its offerings.

The wide open front grille grabs most attention, along with aggressively designed headlamps. Strong muscular body lines run through the hood. Long and rectangular like foglamps add a classy look to the car. The new 5 spoke alloy wheel is eye catching and further enhances the look.

The rear of the hatchback has a striking look and redesigned tail lamps look much better than the outgoing model. The body line along the tail lamp adds structure and character to the back. It looks wider than before thanks to the new bumper design. The exhaust receives a chrome tip. Rear spoiler is nicely integrated into the design of the car.

Design Wise both hatchback and the estate look similar, visible differences are it will be longer and has chrome roof rails. Other than that, no other differences could be spotted.

The rear again isn't any different from its hatchback version. The chrome accent along windows adds a classy look to the design. The wheel arches look prominent however, they don't stick out which is good. The edgy design philosophy is well incorporated into the estate version too.

The car is designed to be driver centric, all gadgets and buttons are easy to operate by the driver. The interiors look sporty and features all black design, dashboard door fabric as well as seat covers. The old three-spoke steering makes way for a four-spoke design. A 8" touch screen entertainment system is centrally placed. The interiors are as sporty as the exterior.
