Fiat Planning To Get Maserati To India

Italian automobile giant Fiat has several brands under its belt. Among the many is a luxury automotive brand 'Maserati'. Fiat Group is planning to launch several new products in new as well as upcoming markets. They have already confirmed its Abarth and Jeep brand to launch within 2015.

Maserati officials have been reported to already visited India and analyse the potential for its luxury vehicles. They plan to open showrooms in India across three popular metros Bangalore, Delhi and Mumbai. The Italian luxury brand will have its own exclusive showroom.

Nagesh Basavanhalli, President and Managing Director of Fiat Chrysler India, told source, "We are under lots of discussions for bringing exciting stuff from our international portfolio, though we are yet to freeze our plans." He also commented it is too early to confirm anything in particular.

Currently the luxury car market in India is growing at a steady pace. The market is dominated by a German trio consisting of Audi, BMW and Mercedes-Benz. They have made a powerful impact in the Indian market and are offering great products. The Italian car maker Maserati would fit right into the game with the right product.

Maserati has recently celebrated its centenary year in a grand fashion. The Italian luxury car maker launched several special editions and new vehicles as it celebrated 100 years. Fiat Group also has Alfa Romeo and Ferrari under its wing and know a thing or two of handling exclusive and unique brands.

Maserati currently offers its global markets products like Ghibli Sedan, GranTurismo coupe, GranCabrio convertible and the Quattroporte sedan. When launched in India the Italian would price its luxury vehicles between INR 1,50,00,000 to 3,00,00,000 ex-showroom.
