Jean-Eric Vergne Joins Ferrari As Test Driver
Ferrari has been making the news with its Formula One team of recent. Ever Since long term Ferrari President, Luca di Montezemolo stepped down, there have been multiple people switching positions in the F1 team.
The latest in news is Ferrari test driver, Pedro de la Rosa has left the Italian brand like Fernando Alonso left Maranello, and will most probably join McLaren.
The Spaniards place has now been filled with Jean-Eric Vergne. He will work to develop the car in a simulator, along with Marc Gene and Davide Rigon, the teams' other testers.
Maurizio Arrivabene, Ferrari's new boss said, "On behalf of the entire team, I welcome Jean-Eric, who I'm sure will make an important contribution to our development work in the simulator."
Speaking about the Spanish test driver, Pedro de la Rosa, who left, Arrivabene thanked him for the work that he did for the past two years.
Ferrari is giving in no chances during the 2015 Formula One season, after a disastrous race season in 2014.
The Italian team recently signed up ex-Red Bull-Renault racer and four time world champion Sebastien Vettel for the 2015 season, and has also had three different bosses in one season.
