Driver Verification System By Delhi Police
The Delhi police have proposed to bring a Driver Verification System to credentials of drivers who are ready to be hired. This system was planned for people who hire drivers and want to know if their car is in safe hands.
The police will hand over an employability certificate to a driver, after verifying his license and checking the number of times the driver has had traffic fines and also how many different drivers license he holds.
Muktesh Chander, Special Commissioner of the traffic department says that implementing this system is under discussion and if all goes well, it will be effective in two months. He says that the police already maintain a record of drivers which shows violations committed if any by each of drivers in the past year which they will use.

People who hire drivers but are looking for the drivers credentials will have to download an application form from the website of the Delhi Police and fill in details such as the hired driver's licence number, experience and other details.
The police would then run a background check on the number of violations committed by the driver such as drunken or negligent driving and then be shared with the employer along with recommendations as to whether hire him or not.
A senior official said that the idea came up after the Delhi police were successful in collecting data on household helps through similar verification forms. The Delhi police have also planned to use a similar system for drivers who seek third party insurance for commercial vehicles.
