Indian made-Datsun GO unveiled in South Africa
The Indian-made Datsun GO has been unveiled in South Africa. The car will be sold in the South African market at a comparatively higher price of under 100,000 rand or INR 5.5 lakh, and will sell in the low-cost car segment. The higher price is due to the import duties in South Africa - it will be the first export market for the locally-produced GO.

The GO will however, feature more equipment than its Indian counterpart, but will sell as only one variant. South Africa usually gets more equipment in cars than India, when the car is sold in both countries. Both cars will feature the same 1.2-litre petrol engine.
Nissan, owner of Datsun, has appointed 30 dealers to as part of its distribution network, with plans to add another 30 over the next few years. For now, Nissan has no plans to manufacture the GO in South Africa.
Nissan has currently introduced the GO hatchback only in Russia, South Africa and India but plans to release it in more developing markets around the world.
