Datsun Go Production Begins In India
Datsun today announced the start of the production of Datsun GO hatchback in India in an event presided over by Vincent Cobee, Global Head, Datsun. The automaker's entry level vehicle will be manufactured in Renault-Nissan's facility in Oragadam,Chennai.
Datsun will launch the GO in March, but bookings begin this week. Datsun GO will be powered by a 1.2 liter petrol engine that slightly differs from the 1.2 liter HR12DE 3 cylinder engine that's found in the Micra Active. The engine will be come mated to a 5 speed manual transmission, with the shifter stick mounted on the dashboard for easy of use and to make space for a third occupant at the front.

The GO will go on sale in Russia and Indonesia, but India becomes the first country in the world to get the new Maruti Alto K10 competitor. The launch of the GO will be followed with introduction of GO+ MPV as well as another model 'L2' that will be placed below the GO.
Datsun GO range will start from below INR 4 lakhs. Visitors to the Auto Expo 2014 will be able to have a look at the entire Datsun range.
