Datsun GO Bookings Begin; Deliveries Begin Next Month

Nissan's budget brand Datsun has opened bookings of the GO hatchback. The Maruti Alto and Hyundai Eon competitor can be booked by paying Rs 11,000. Interested buyers can reserve a Datsun GO hatchback at any Nissan dealership. The car is available with a two-year unlimited warranty.

Datsun GO will be available for a starting price that is less than INR 4 lakhs for the low end variant. The hatchback is powered by a three cylinder 1.2 liter petrol engine that generates 68 PS power and 104 Nm of torque. The engine is coupled to a 5 speed manual transmission that drives the front wheels. Under standard conditions the GO delivers a mileage of 20.6 km/l.

The GO hatchback will be offered in blue, white, red and gray colours and will measure 3,785 mm long, 1,635 mm wide, 1,485 mm high, with a 2,450 mm wheelbase.

Compared to its competitors, Datsun GO is longer overall and the longer wheelbase also means there is more legroom. Datsun also says the GO is wide enough to seat three people at the rear even as the dashboard mounted gear shift lever leaves some free space between the driver and the front passenger.

Datsun GO is manufactured in Renault-Nissan's Oragadam, Chennai facility and delivers are expected to begin before the end of March.
